Enrol your child at Norden

Norden International School is proud to welcome new students for grades 1–9. We accept enrolments throughout the school year, subject to availability. Read on for our enrolment steps, fees, and academic requirements — or go straight to the application form.

Academic requirements

  • All grades 1–9 accepted — we welcome students throughout the school year, provided places are available.
  • No prior English required. A level assessment is arranged for all new students to plan the right learning path.
  • Bring recent report cards to the level-assessment appointment so our teachers can plan effectively.
  • Returning students are given priority for places. New students are assessed through placement tests and motivation letters.

How to apply

Enrolment in four steps

Our process is straightforward. From your first application to signing the school contract, we guide you every step of the way.

  1. Fill in the application form

    Complete our online application form. You will receive a confirmation message and we will announce your level-assessment date.

  2. Attend the level assessment

    All prospective students take a level assessment arranged upon request. Please bring your most recent school report cards to this appointment.

  3. Pay the registration fee

    Once the assessment is complete and a place is offered, a one-time registration fee of €750 secures your child's place.

  4. Sign the school contract

    Review and sign the enrolment agreement. We will then share everything you need for a smooth first day.

Admissions FAQ

When can my child start at Norden?
The school year begins in August. However, we accept students throughout the year provided places are available and the student meets the entry requirements.
Is previous knowledge of English required?
No prior English knowledge is required. All prospective students take a level assessment, after which we design an appropriate learning plan.
What documents should I bring to the level assessment?
Please bring your child's most recent school report cards. If you have any previous learning-support or special-needs documentation, bring that too so we can plan effectively.
Are returning students given priority?
Yes. Returning students are given priority for places. New students are assessed through placement tests and motivation letters.
Does Norden issue an official Finnish school certificate?
Our school does not issue an official Finnish school certificate. Official certificates are issued by the municipal monitoring school. We can provide progress reports for transitions to Finnish state schools or schools abroad.
Are there payment plans available for the annual tuition?
